Provisional Offshore Wind Skills Transition Course

Duration: 4 Weeks
Location: Great Yarmouth & Lowestoft
Subject to funding.
A 4 week course for those with an existing Level 2 or higher technical qualification who would like to transfer existing skills into the Offshore Wind Industry.
Requirements: Minimum Level 2 Maths and English. Minimum NVQ Level 2 Engineering/Technical Qualification or equivalent. Medically fit for working at heights, physical training i.e. manual handling, firefighting etc. (An OGUK medical and Chester Step (fitness test) will be carried out including drug and alcohol screening prior to course commencement).
Includes: Introduction to Offshore Wind, GWO Working at Height, GWO Basic Safety Training, GWO Basic Technical Training, LEEA Slinger Banksman, C&G Confined Space, ECITB CCNSG Safety Passport, GWO Sea Survival, GWO First Aid, GWO Fire Awareness, GWO Manual Handling
Expected outcomes: Installation, commissioning, operations and maintenance technicians ready to enter offshore wind industry.
