Offshore Wind Skills Centre

The growing offshore wind energy industry offers rich opportunities for decades to come for people with the right skills.

Wind farms in the waters off the Norfolk and Suffolk coast will be some of the world’s largest as the region builds on its current global-leading status in providing green energy for many years to come.

By 2030, half of the UK offshore wind farms will be off the East of England with the region needing more than 6,000 more skilled people for sustainable jobs in an exciting, expanding sector.

The East of England’s new Offshore Wind Skills Centre is a pioneering employer-led initiative designed to arm people with the training and qualifications they need to start rewarding careers now and for the future.

The Centre’s courses are geared to help workers and employers alike. It retrains adults for new careers and college-leavers for their first jobs. Its location in Great Yarmouth puts it at the heart of the industry, which it serves through local harbours and companies.

The courses provided by ourselves directly and those by our partners range from a basic introduction, to working at height and in confined spaces, manual handling, first aid and sea survival. We can also help people with existing technical skills transfer from other industries – such as onshore power generation and offshore oil and gas – to the offshore wind sector.

If you are looking to train or re-skill we can help you find a course to suit your personal or company needs.
